Juliana Imai - SOMA Magazine September 2008

Here is another sports themed editorial called 'Olympia', this one is a bit older it’s from the September 2008 issue of SOMA Magazine and it features a model that I think is great, Juliana Imai. The styling was done by Raphael Mendonca and the photographer was Ron Purdy. This is a great shoot Juliana gives off a tough and sexy vibe and the way she positions her body in the pictures is amazing. This has to be one of my favourite sports themed shoots.♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Agencies
New York - Ford Models
Hamburg - Mega Model Agency
Barcelona - Traffic Models

Born on February 27, 1984 in Brazil, Juliana was discovered while walking on the street with her mother. She has gone on to appear on the cover of Vogue China & Wish Report Magazine Brazil and has appeared in editorials for Harper's Bazaar Latino America, V, L'officiel Brazil, Numéro China, ELLE Brazil, Russia & France & American Marie Claire. She has also appeared in ads for Diesel, Levi & RayBan.

The thing I love the most about Juliana is what a unique beauty she is. She is of mixed Japanese and Portuguese descent and I have never seen anyone who looks like her before. You can see the Portuguese in her but sometimes she looks completely Japanese and I think this adds to her beauty because she is able to appeal to a wide variety of people. She has beautiful eyes and amazing lips, she is just gorgeous.

The first time I really took notice of Juliana was when I saw June 2008 issue of US Marie Claire. I really loved the pictures and it was so rare to see Asian models especially Asian models that look like Juliana. These pictures are the kind of pictures you look at and cannot really believe how beautiful they are. Her face was perfect and the styling just tied everything together nicely.
